If we had to define them in three words, we would say that corgis are the happiest, most smiling, and funniest dogs in the world. We would also add, as an additional description, that they are Queen Elizabeth II of England's favorite dog and best friend, as we already explained to you some time ago (read about it here).
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi belongs to the herding dog group. And that is what they have traditionally been used for, especially in Great Britain, where the breed originated (in fact, it is said to be one of the oldest in the country).
In Spain, it is not a particularly well-known breed (how many corgis would you say you've seen walking down the street?), although it is gradually gaining more fans. In fact, a few weeks ago the first corgi meetup took place in Madrid, and of course, the entire ARISTOPET team was there. It was a hilarious and endearing experience, as you can see in this video summary of the event:
What are corgis like?
A corgi's general appearance is that of a small but moderately long and strong dog. Despite its size, its robust and vigorous build and its talent in agility trials are surprising. Its height at the withers ranges approximately between 25 and 30 cm. The weight in males ranges from 10 to 12 kilograms, while in females, it is between 9 and 11 kilograms.
Its muzzle length is noteworthy, which should be three-fifths the length of the skull (wide and flattened between the ears) and tends to narrow slightly. This contributes to the fact that, at first glance, the corgi has a great similarity to the fox. That, coupled with its alert and intelligent expression, does the rest.
Their teeth are strong, healthy, with a scissor bite. When they smile, their expression is captivating. Their black nose contrasts with the brown color of their well-placed, round, medium-sized eyes (always in harmony with the color of the coat). Their ears are medium, erect, and slightly rounded. If a straight line is drawn from the tip of the nose through the middle of the eyes and continued, it supposedly passes through or is tangent to the tip of the ears.
Corgis are also very special because of their coat. They have medium-length, straight hair with a dense undercoat. Their tones are usually uniform, including red, sable, black and tan. They may or may not have white markings on their limbs, chest, and neck.
How do corgis behave?
They have a bold, stubborn, and headstrong attitude. If they were a child, they would be the school bully. But they have a big heart that barely fits in their small body. They also have a good disposition to defend and protect their loved ones. They are always sociable, cheerful, and friendly. Aggressiveness is not in their plans. Although nervousness can sometimes take hold of them due to their irrepressible desire to play and have a great time.
Corgis are usually determined. And that is reflected in their uninhibited and lively movement. Always ready to conquer the world with their overwhelming and adorable personality.

How to care for corgis?
Corgis adapt well to both country and city life. They are easy dogs. The only thing they need to be happy is to be integrated into the family. In fact, they terribly hate loneliness. Therefore, for their well-being, this ARISTODOG is not recommended for people with hectic lives, who travel a lot, or spend little time at home.
Likewise, due to their origins as herding dogs, they tend to bark at almost anything. This can be a bit uncomfortable. They are also an inexhaustible source of energy, so they require a good amount of exercise every day.
