Bringing a puppy home is a wonderful thing, and at the same time it brings a lot of questions. One of them is when can a puppy be bathed. Some time ago we gave you 10 tips for training your puppy, which you can read here and today we will delve a little deeper into the question of when it is best to bathe your puppy.

Often, puppies get dirtier than adult dogs, thanks to their curiosity and desire to play constantly and explore every possible corner, so the question of when we should bathe our puppy is a very common one.
It is true that in the past, veterinarians used to recommend not bathing dogs until they had all their vaccinations in order, approximately at three months of age, but if you bathe them with adequate care and make sure to dry them well, there will be no problem with giving them a bath if they need it. The important thing is that they don't catch a cold so that their defenses don't drop, especially if they are in the vaccination period.
You can bathe your puppy when needed. Of course, use common sense, and we recommend:
– The water must be warm. Above all, it should not be cold, but not too hot either.
– Use a shampoo specifically for puppies
– Dry him very well after the bath
As we mentioned above, it is very important to use a shampoo for puppies, as this will be appropriate for the pH of their skin. Try to get them used to baths from a young age so that it is not a stressful experience for them. To do this, you can use a suitable dog bathtub, like the ones we have available at ARISTOSHOP, and to make bath time more pleasant, you can introduce some of their toys into the bathtub so that they feel more relaxed.

If you don't want to get them wet, an alternative is dry shampoos, which are removed by brushing after being left to act on your ARISTOPET's dry fur. They are perfect especially for the winter months, and very practical for any occasion.
Bathing your dog for the first time is a very tender experience; bathing is a new stimulus for him, so try to make him feel comfortable and familiar with the water, so that it becomes a positive experience for him, and thus it will be a moment you both will enjoy very much 🙂
