Eltón is a Civil Guard dog, who, after participating in more than 500 cases, is retiring with honors. His keen sense of smell has been key in the search for Diana Quer, Marta del Castillo, Yéremi Vargas, and Gabriel Cruz.

This German Shepherd is retiring with great honors and the recognition of the entire Civil Guard team and many citizens. "He was able to provide evidence of a murder by detecting a drop of blood. He has participated in the search for Diana Quer, Marta del Castillo, Yéremi Vargas, and Gabriel Cruz, among others. Eltón has been trained to search for missing persons and to detect drugs and explosives, as his trainer Juan Manuel explained in an interview for La Sexta. Furthermore, Eltón has even more merit because he was the first dog to track biological remains. He managed to locate the well where Diana Quer was found and participated persistently in the Gabriel Cruz case. As Juan Manuel says, they worked hand in hand and every "challenge he proposed" was met.
After all the great work he has done over the years, which also included his rest and recovery days, he is now retiring. He is honored as one of the pioneering dogs in the search for people and biological remains. And now, he is awaiting adoption to begin a more relaxed life with the family he deserves.
Dogs are great life companions, but also good work companions. Their skills and nature allow them to achieve things that people cannot.
