The Gossos Foundation will care for abandoned dogs

La Fundación Gossos cuidará de los perros abandonados

We love receiving good news like this! The San Antonio City Council (Ibiza) and the Gossos Foundation have signed an agreement in which the association will be responsible for the collection and care of abandoned or lost dogs in the town.

The Gossos Foundation, a non-profit organization, is strongly committed to the situation of lost or abandoned dogs. Its main focus is on caring for these rescued dogs and ensuring their physical and emotional recovery.

One of their great achievements is their dog sterilization campaigns, subsidized by the foundation itself and with the cooperation of various institutions, such as the College of Veterinarians of the Balearic Islands and the governments of Ibiza. Thanks to their work, they have managed to find new homes for more than 500 abandoned dogs.

According to the agreement, the City Council will establish a new protocol for action in relation to lost or abandoned animals. It states that any citizen who loses or finds a dog must immediately notify the Local Police, so that they can alert the collection services.

For its part, the foundation commits to covering the animals' needs, as well as the surgical treatments necessary for their recovery.

In the event of a lost dog, ARISTO-PARENTS will have 21 days to claim their pets. If no one has claimed the dog after this period, the City Council will donate the animals to the foundation so they can find a new home.

In addition, the foundation will hand over the dogs to their new family spayed/neutered, dewormed, and with all relevant vaccinations, accompanied, of course, by their corresponding veterinary record.

This initiative seeks to promote responsible pet ownership and the adoption of abandoned dogs to ensure they find a family and a new life.
