Dog-friendly beaches in Gran Canaria
1.Los Cuervitos, located in the picturesque town of Agüimes, this open beach, bathed by the Atlantic, has strong winds and moderate waves, making it perfect for surfing, but it requires you to be quite attentive to your dog. The sand is golden, though somewhat stony. Parking is the only service offered.
2. Los tres peos, also located in Agüimes, this beach is highly regarded by users, despite what its name might suggest. As with the previous one, the wind is strong and the waves moderate. But the advantage of this beach is that it's a cove, so it's more sheltered. The sand is dark and the occupancy density is rather low. From the beach, you can see beautiful cliffs, making this a good option for spending the day. However, it has no services, so you need to come prepared.
4. Playa de Bocabarranco, near the municipality of Telde, was the first dog-friendly beach to be enabled in Gran Canaria, back in 2013. It is a space that occupies 6,000 square meters and the reserved area coincides with the intertidal zone, the part of the coast located between the levels of high and low tides, which allows for natural washing of the sand, in addition to the collection of waste by the Cleaning service operators. As with the previous two, there are strong waves and wind.
Dog-friendly beaches in Tenerife
1. Playa Callao/Las Bajas, Playa el Socorro, Playa El Puertito. These three beaches are found in the municipality of Güimar, known for its ethnographic park where you can visit some mysterious pyramids. Playa Callao/Las Bajas is 1490 meters long and 23 meters wide. The ground of this beach is composed of boulders and gravel. Playa el Socorro is notable for its strong waves and also its length, 1,010 meters, and its width of 15 meters. The ground of this beach is composed of boulders and gravel. 1.Playa de las Coloradas is a beautiful and intimate beach near the Playa Blanca complex, in the south of Lanzarote. With warm turquoise waters and volcanic sands dotted with pebbles, it's soothing. It is only 400 meters long, but that's more than enough to enjoy with your best friend.
2. Playa de la Guacimeta, in Playa Honda (San Bartolomé). This is a beautiful sandy beach, ideal for enjoying a day at the beach with your pet at any time of year. However, the peace can be disturbed by the countless planes that cross the beach no more than 100 meters high to land at the airport, which is very close to the beach. So if your dog doesn't handle loud noises well, it might be more convenient to look for another option.
