Sprinkles & Angela from The Office
Angela Martin, in addition to working as an accountant at the Dunder Mifflin office, is a true aristopet. Her unconditional love for cats is reflected on her desk (decorated with cat plush toys, photos, and porcelain figurines) and, of course, in her daily life. Angela is capable of secretly taking her cats to work; of monitoring them and talking to them via webcam so they don't miss her while she's away from home; of breaking off a relationship because her partner doesn't love her cats as much as she does... And, of course, there's no Halloween or costume party where she doesn't dress up as a kitten herself...
Although Angela's character is generally quite hateful, her relationship with her cats, especially the legendary Sprinkles, allows viewers (especially if they are as pet-loving as she is) to see her more human and loving side. And then it's impossible not to love her!
Stella & Gloria from Modern Family
Stella, whose real name is Brigitte, is a six-year-old French bulldog who played the pet in one of television's funniest series, Modern Family, for several seasons.
Stella is very mischievous and enjoys destroying things around the house, especially if they belong to Gloria (Sofia Vergara). This means they don't get along at all, while Jay, who adopted her, adores her. Stella also loves to jump into the pool and create chaos, as everyone around her thinks she's trying to commit suicide.
Her performance earned her the "Best Dog in a Television Series" award at the Golden Collar Awards in 2012. And although she is no longer part of the series' cast (she has been replaced by another dog named Beatrice), fans of the series will never forget moments like this:
Vincent & Walt from Lost
The only non-human survivor of Oceanic Flight 815 was Vincent, a beautiful yellow Labrador Retriever. Well, in reality, it was a female dog named Madison (in most series and films, the dogs that appear are female, as production companies consider it indecent to show a dog's genitals. No comment, right?).
Vincent is one of the most important characters in the series, not only because the screenwriters ensured his continuity, season after season (they didn't do the same with other characters), but also because he served as a resource for discovering important plot points... Because every time Vincent went missing, the characters had to look for him and venture into the jungle...
Paul Anka & Lorelai from Gilmore Girls
Lorelai Gilmore gives a lesson in pet love by adopting Paul Anka (the name is a tribute to the singer of the same name, author of the famous song "Puppy Love"), in the sixth season of the series. And she treats him as if he were her second child (let's remember that her biological daughter is Rory).
Paul is great and very, very peculiar. He is afraid of peas, lint, paperback books, framed photos, and popcorn. He doesn't like traditional dog toys. He doesn't like to be seen eating. Nor does he like people wearing watches.
A few months ago, Lauren Graham, who played Lorelai Gilmore in the iconic series, posted an image of Paul Anka on her Instagram to announce the four-episode revival of the series that Netflix is preparing. We can't wait to find out how Paul has been doing all this time! We'll be keeping a close eye!
