Continuing with our beach route for ARISTOPETERS, we couldn't forget the beaches of Cantabria. Cantabria has more than 220 km of coastline where more than ninety beaches can be enjoyed, fulfilling the desires of the diverse tastes of visitors to Cantabria.
Large, small, urban, wild, secluded and calm or open to the Cantabrian Sea, and among this great quantity of wonderful beaches, we tell you about those you can enjoy with your ARISTODOGS:
Playa de la Maza

Located in San Vicente de la Barquera. Playa de la Maza (or Playa de Los Vagos, as it is popularly known) is a small sandy beach located in the Ría de Oyambre. It consists of fine golden sand, very calm waters, and moderate wind. This dog beach in San Vicente de la Barquera is open all year round with no time restrictions.
Playa de la Riberuca

Playa de la Riberuca is one of the latest beaches enabled for dogs in Cantabria. It is a small beach located at the mouth of the Saja River in Suances. It is a beach with low occupancy and low waves. Be careful, at low tide the dog beach becomes waterless and turns into mud.
Playa del Arcisero
It is located to the east of the city, on the way to Puerto de la Granja, in a valley between Cerredo and Peña Helguera. It is a natural beach of great scenic beauty, formed by stone and sand, ideal to enjoy with your pet. Its waves are moderate to high, so don't forget to keep an eye on your pet at all times.
Muelle Oriñón
Playa Muelle Oriñón in Castro Urdiales is a small cove where fishermen take advantage to leave their boats. Dogs can walk freely and off-leash all year round. There are no specific rules for this beach; dogs can walk loose all year round. As in any public space, it is mandatory to pick up your pet's excrement and try not to disturb other users.
Cala Cargadero Mioño
Small cove belonging to the municipality of Castro Urdiales, where our ARISTODOGS can roam freely all year round. It is a small cove made of sand and pebbles with low waves.
Playa el Puntal

This is a section of El Puntal beach, an extensive sandbar that closes the entrance to Santander bay from the south. It is located in the town of Somo, belonging to the municipality of Ribamontán.
El Puntal beach consists of a large sand expanse 4.5 kilometers long with a dune system in its central area. The area designated for dogs is the southern part of this large sand expanse, next to the Somo Pier in the Miera Estuary.
Playa el Arenal del Jortín
It is a small cove located next to San Juan de la Canal beach. It is 100 meters long and is situated between small cliffs and rocks.
In April 2016, the Santa Cruz de Bezana town council approved access for people with their dogs to Arenal del Jortín, but not to San Juan de la Canal or Covachos.
Playa el Madero
It has been considered a dog beach since 2016. It is a small cove of rock, pebbles, and sand. Dog access is allowed all year round without restrictions.
Playa de Helgueras
Last year, the town council decided to change the regulations and enable a swimming area for dogs. The area for dogs covers about 800 meters of the beach.
It has fine sand with large and sharp rocks. It is available during the months of July and August without time restrictions.
