Today’s "rumboso" ARISTOPETERS…
…Fernando Nicolás is one of the owners of one of Madrid's coolest restaurant groups, Grupo Larrumba, founded in 2013 with its first restaurant PIPA&CO, followed by MARIETA, JUANITA CRUZ, FRIDA, PERRACHICA, and most recently, one we love, HABANERA. All restaurants have their own unique personality, based on their different spaces and offerings.
How did you meet Rumbón?
One day, my girlfriend asked me to go somewhere with her, and we ended up at a pet shop. I wasn’t entirely convinced about getting a dog, but I fell in love, and there hasn't been a day I haven't spent with him.
How old is Rumbón?
A year and a half.
What is a day with Rumbón like?
Every morning, we go to the office together, usually walking, as I live very close, or sometimes by car… Everyone at the office loves him, and they almost fight over who gets to take him for a walk, it's wonderful…
What would you highlight about your relationship with Rumbón?
I love him madly, but he completely ignores me. Sometimes I’ve been worried letting him off-leash in the street, and he just doesn’t listen… :D
Are the group’s restaurants pet-friendly?
Currently, we have one that allows well-behaved dogs, it’s called FRIDA, in the CHUECA neighborhood, but soon we will be allowing them in new spaces of GRUPO LARRUMBA, as long as they are good, of course… ;)
…Future plans
Right now, the group is expanding rapidly. This year we have 14 new openings, so it will be a year of a lot of hard work and effort… We are also opening in HABANA VIEJA (Cuba)… ;)
