At ARISTOPET, we have told you about companies that allow pets in the office. Now that more modes of transport admit pets, as do some food establishments, we are sure that you would like to move around with your dog and avoid leaving him alone at home or tied to the doors of shops. Faced with this situation, we asked ourselves: if I wanted to go shopping with my dog, could we go into the stores?
Before having a bad time, we preferred to do a brief investigation into the Pet Friendly policies of the most visited stores and share it with you.
Inditex Stores:
Zara, Zara Home, Bershka, Pull & Bear, Stradivarius, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, Uterqüe.
Perhaps the best-known stores in Spain and internationally not only have a policy of animal respect in their clothing, but have also recognized that pets are members of our families and have allowed access to their establishments with dogs, regardless of the size of the animal.
When we contacted Inditex, they replied that they do not prohibit the entry of pets into their establishments. Their policy is subject to the legal regulations of each city (if a dog is considered dangerous, it must follow muzzle, leash, etc., regulations). In shopping centers, the center's own regulations apply.
Since there is no sign on the doors prohibiting dogs, they assume that access is permitted, as they see no reason to deny entry, and they strive for easy coexistence in the store between customers, owners, and dogs.
H&M: In other European countries, their Pet Friendly policy was already well-known, which they recently began to apply in their Spanish stores. They prefer dogs to be carried or to wear a muzzle if they are very large.
Mango: Another chain of stores that does not indicate on its doors or windows the prohibition of pet entry. In their establishments, we have seen small dogs calmly walking alongside their owners. Although they do not have an official policy, their employees have indicated that they allow access and permanence as long as the dog is well-behaved and does not generate complaints from other customers.
Decathlon: As explained on their Facebook page, the decision to allow pets in or not is made by the director or manager of each store, there is no single criterion. They recommend calling the nearest store before going to inquire.
Casa del Libro: Their doors indicate "Dogs are welcome." Buying a good book will now be more than a pleasure.
El Corte Inglés: After a year of controversy regarding dog access to its establishments, El Corte Inglés has allowed small dogs in some of its stores. This Pet Friendly trend has not been implemented in all centers, so it is necessary to check if there is a notice on their doors indicating whether access is allowed or not.
Zakka: This home decor store allows dogs of any size. At ARISTOPET, we went with one of our biggest ARISTODOGS (a 20 kg mixed breed) and he was welcomed without any problem.
Note: if the mentioned stores are located within a shopping center, pet entry will depend on the center's regulations.
To ensure that this trend continues to grow, we must follow the basic rules of each store: The dog must be well-behaved so as not to cause discomfort to other customers or users, must be on a leash (or in arms) and, if considered a potentially dangerous breed, must wear a muzzle. As good ARISTOPARENTS, we must be attentive to our companion's behavior to avoid possible discomfort for both other people and our pet.
