The Bocalán Foundation is organizing a charity dinner this Thursday, July 5th, at 9:45 PM, where they will present the project Animal-Assisted Therapy in Children's Homes, and ARISTOPET encourages you to participate in this great initiative.
The dinner will be held at Machete restaurant and will feature a tasting menu by Chef Álex Álvarez. Reservations can be made by emailing macheterestaurante@gmail.com or by calling 640 754 002.
The proceeds from this dinner will go to the aforementioned program, which will benefit children living in the children's home. These children are between 4 and 12 years old and are minors in a state of helplessness.
The benefits of Animal-Assisted Interventions have been widely proven in the scientific field. In these interventions, different therapeutic or educational activities are carried out with the aim of improving people's quality of life or social condition, and dogs are used as a facilitating element to achieve these objectives.

The objective of these therapies is: To improve development, autonomy, and participation for social integration and a normalized life, and to prevent social exclusion. They will work on:
– Improving self-esteem and self-concept
– Fostering a sense of responsibility
– Working on respect
– Training social skills
– Improving motivation and participation
– Fostering motivation for education
The project will last 6 months and will include a psychologist, an occupational therapist, a social integrator, and volunteers, as well as three dogs and puppies as a canine team.
24 children, divided into three groups (one group of 4 to 6-year-olds and two groups of 9 to 12-year-olds), will benefit from these interventions. This project will be very beneficial for them because, thanks to the dogs, important skills such as those we have just mentioned will be fostered: expressions of affection, self-esteem, ... the complicity that dogs provide is an unparalleled tool for children to develop all these facets.
If you want to help fund this wonderful project, do not hesitate to attend the dinner. To reserve, please write to: macheterestaurante@gmail.com
