Recreational areas and pet relief stations in Spanish airports

Zonas recreativas y baños para mascotas en los aeropuertos españoles

Gran Canaria Airport has recently opened a recreational area for pets, aiming to meet the growing number of passengers traveling with their animals.

The new area, as announced by Aena, features fencing to control animal access and exit, an explanatory sign for its use, and a fountain with a basin at the bottom for pets to use.

There is also a waste bin with a bag dispenser, two artificial turf areas that include a programmed self-cleaning system with water jet, and a bollard.

In addition, travelers can sit on a bench inside the fenced area with their pets.

Thus, it follows in the footsteps of Palma Airport, which two years ago inaugurated three such areas specifically designed for our pets.

More and more dogs are traveling the world by plane. And more and more airports are also joining the idea of having an exclusive pet area.

From ARISTOPET, we would like to see these areas set up throughout the national territory, but we will still have to wait.
