ARISTOPET with Subaru Petlover visited the Bocalán Foundation to learn about the work carried out by assistance dogs.
Located in Aranjuez and with 20 years of experience, it is one of the most prestigious institutions dedicated to animal behavior and the training of dog trainers at an international level.
As a foundation, they seek to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities thanks to the help of their assistance dogs. These wonderful ARISTODOGS are trained for 8-10 months, and then will be trained according to the needs of the people they are going to assist. The most common breeds for this type of work are the Labrador Retriever and the Golden Retriever, mainly due to their affable, docile, and calm nature. These breeds are also very common for guide, service, and therapy dogs.
They also train dogs to assist children with autism. Their work is very important as it can prevent accidents, intercepting the child when they make a sudden move, something very frequent in this condition; they work on relaxation, improving children's sleep patterns. Thanks to physical contact with the dog, its temperature and breathing help the child relax and sleep.
And recently, they are working with medical alert dogs, trained to detect a drop in blood sugar. These dogs are trained to detect a diabetes problem even half an hour before it happens, thus preventing major risks.
The work of these ARISTODOGS is wonderful, and thanks to their help, the quality of life for many people improves considerably.
We arrived at the foundation's facilities with the Subaru Forester. Subaru, a pet-lover brand par excellence, is highly committed to animals, which is why it guarantees the safety and comfort of ARISTOPETS during travel.
The excellent traction of the Forester allows for safe driving, even if weather conditions like rain or snow, or the state of the terrain are not appropriate.
Thanks to its dashboard, which can be used by touch or voice, you will have everything under control to ensure a comfortable and pleasant journey. Additionally, it has a rear-view camera that facilitates parking maneuvers. This camera activates when reverse gear is engaged.
