Doganzo Humane Society

Doganzo is a non-profit animal welfare association that operates in the municipality of Daganzo de Arriba (Madrid) and its surrounding areas. Its goal is to improve the lives of companion animals, both those in vulnerable situations and those living with the association's members in their homes as part of the family.

What does the association do?

· Responsible pet ownership activities: seminars, courses, workshops, walks, and various initiatives aimed at achieving better coexistence between people and pets and a better understanding of our companion animals' needs.

It also conducts public awareness and sensitization campaigns to promote an attitude of respect and responsibility towards animals.

· Feline colony management: They care for the cats living on our streets, improving their situation within the colonies. Their project is based on the TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) method, and all cats are individually registered. They are fed, dewormed, provided with shelters, and given any necessary veterinary treatments. In addition, residents are informed about the work being done and its benefits for them. Spayed/neutered cats do not mark, fight, or meow during heat cycles, and they are an excellent and ecological method of pest control. The TNR method is recommended by the WHO and is the only effective way to prevent feline overpopulation in urban areas.

· Adoption and foster homes: Responsible adopters are sought for sociable colony cats, orphaned kittens or those in high-risk situations, as well as animals found abandoned in the municipality by the association. Volunteers are responsible for finding the most suitable home for each animal to ensure a successful and happy coexistence. Until a family is found for them, the shelter relies on foster homes that temporarily open their doors, providing them with love and care.

How can I collaborate?

· Become a member: Choose an annual fee of 20, 30, or 50 euros in a single payment. You'll be the first to know about all activities and will be contributing to animal welfare in Daganzo.

· Become a colony manager: Experience caring for one of Daganzo's feline colonies and see how the cats recognize you and improve every day. You'll have the association's support for whatever you need.

· Become a volunteer: Help the association with various activities and fundraising tasks.

· Become a foster home: Offer a needy animal its first home and the opportunity to find a family.

· Make a donation: Because this project needs funding to move forward. The organization's account number is ES12 1491 0001 25 2110938525. You can also donate shelters or materials to build them, food, feeders, blankets, towels, medicines, and anything that can help rescued animals.

· Sponsor a colony: With a contribution starting from 6 euros per month, you can help with the daily expenses of one of the colonies. You will receive photos and information about your sponsored cats.

· Become a teamer: By contributing just 1 euro per month, together we can achieve a lot. www.teaming.net/proyectocesdoganzo

· Attend and enjoy the charity events organized by the shelter (concerts, shows, tattoos, photo sessions, etc.). Stay informed on social media.

· Place a collection box and/or a point of sale for the solidarity crafts made by volunteers in your business: contact the shelter to have them delivered to you.

· Visit their online store or points of sale in collaborating businesses. 100% of the profits go to the association.

· Spread the word about their project and their adoptable animals: on social media, with your friends, at work, with your family…
