Discover all the factors that influence your dog's rest

Descubre todos los factores que influyen en el descanso de tu perro

You're probably already very familiar with your dog's sleep habits (like a good ARISTOPETER!), but if you're new to the topic, or simply want more information, we're going to tell you everything you need to know about your ARISTODOG's rest.

Dogs, like us, have the same need for rest as any human, as well as dreams and nightmares. However, depending on the type of dog you have, its age, or even its size, your dog will sleep more or fewer hours a day.

The first factor that influences their rest is the amount of physical activity they do during the day. If you want your pet to rest better and have a more peaceful sleep, try to increase the frequency and intensity of walks, because the more exercise they do during the day, the better they will sleep. All this taking into account that, by nature, dogs can be either very active or very lazy.

The next factor you should consider is age. Adult dogs, in general, rest an average of 13 hours a day throughout the day, sleeping most at night. On the other hand, both older canines and puppies spend practically all day lying down, sleeping or resting.

Size and breed also influence sleep hours. Some adult dogs can sleep between 15 and 16 hours a day. Giant breed dogs, for example, can even sleep 18, as their energy expenditure is higher than that of other smaller breeds.

Of course, every dog is unique and has its own peculiarities. However, what is certain is that to help them rest, you must take care of both their diet and their routines. It is also very important that your ARISTODOG has its own comfortable and warm place to rest properly.
