Today we continue our review of pet-friendly companies. This time we will focus on the United Kingdom, where we have found several very interesting cases.
Build-a-Bear
This toy company (specifically plush toys), with more than 20 years of tradition, is one of the most beloved by children... and, by extension, by their parents. But it is also loved by employees, as it has been on the prestigious ranking of the 100 best companies to work for for three consecutive years, according to the Fortune list. Its love for animals, not just plush ones but real ones, has surely contributed to this. That's why pets are welcome. In fact, every year the company's canine CEO, the beautiful Milford, organizes a birthday party where all employees' dogs are more than invited.
The Dogs Trust
This non-profit organization is dedicated to finding new homes for abandoned pets. So it makes sense that employees' pets are welcome in the office. But not only that: they are also offered dental insurance (a topic of utmost importance for pets' well-being, although unfortunately many owners have not yet internalized it) and regular training sessions are held for pets to interact with each other.
Firebox
In this store you can find any gift... as long as you are looking for something original and surprising. In fact, they define themselves as "the store that is not for everyone." At a corporate level, the company supports the presence of dogs in the workplace, not only because they generate a positive impact and relieve stress for owners, but also because they help to build team spirit, foster creativity, and are tremendously fun. So much so that dogs participate in meetings and have, so to speak, symbolic voice and vote.
Next Model Management
This prestigious modeling and talent agency, founded in 1989 by Faith Kates, has offices in London, Paris, Milan, New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. It is an example of pet integration in the workplace, as executives and models who own dogs can bring them to the office.
The office provides water bowls, as well as a dog resting area. The president of the London office, Amanda Bretherton, is one of the main beneficiaries of this initiative, as she lives with three dogs (2 Pomeranians and a Yorkie poo), who are now three beloved members of the office. Likewise, the public relations director, Katy Moseley, also occasionally brings her two Shar-Peis. The same goes for the creative talent director, Sarah Leon, who often brings her boyfriend's Spaniel. As for the models, Leah Weller is one of those who spends the most time with her chihuahua, as she takes him everywhere with her.
Among the dogs that frequent Next Model Management, Alfie stands out, who is quite an influencer, judging by the success of his Instagram profile.
