Besides being a showcase, a paradise for "posturing," and a time-sink (just kidding, just kidding!), Instagram is a "place" to find people who do absolutely creative, fun, surprising, wonderful things... and follow them. Sometimes, you like them so much that you eagerly await each new update and open the app thinking, "What's next? Please let them have updated..." Anyway, what can we tell you! You know exactly what we mean.
The thing is, in addition to human profiles, there are pet profiles. And those are the ones we especially adore. Of course, behind each of these profiles is an "aristopet" owner (no matter how smart our pets are, for now they can't register on social media. But give it time, who knows), but it's their pets that steal the spotlight and whose poses, combined with humorous captions, have become a hit on the internet. Today we share with you some of our favorites.
1. Marnie, the life of the party
Marnie, better known as "Marnie the dog," is an internet star at fourteen years old. She's a Shih Tzu, originally from Tibet, though in this case, Marnie lives in New York. She's an outgoing and very cosmopolitan dog who goes from party to party, as you can see on her profile.
We also undoubtedly love her because Marnie is an adopted dog. Her owner, Shirley, adopted her through petfinder.com when Marnie was already ten years old and, sadly, blind in her left eye. Hers is, without a doubt, an inspiring case of unconditional love for senior pets.

2. Maddie, life companion
Maddie is a beautiful English coonhound, a breed native to the southeastern United States. Maddie is good-natured, affable, sociable, stubborn, and strong, a true example of her breed.
As seen in the photos, she's playful, but like a good coonhound, she can't resist curling up on a soft surface whenever she gets the chance. That's why it's so important to keep her active, as her owner Theron does. He, by the way, takes beautiful and inspiring photos that perfectly capture the connection he has with his pet.

3. Smoothie, the feline queen
Instagram's most sophisticated cat has a name as sophisticated as she is: Smoothie. She belongs to the British Longhair breed and is a balanced, independent, reserved, and very charming cat. She poses like a true model, staring directly at the lens.
We love Smoothie. Her long, abundant, dense, and so soft fur... And what big eyes! She's a true queen with over 300,000 followers (and growing!).

4. Dogs and Vans
This profile is the reflection of a personal artistic project by photographer Andrew Knapp that combines dogs and vans.
A profile where the protagonists and scenarios change every day (although they are always vans) and, therefore, so do the stories. How we love meeting other aristopeters all over the world!

5. Shishi-maru, a cat with character
Few cats are as expressive as Shishi-maru. This feline, a Scottish Fold, is another Instagram star - especially in Japan. She loves to dominate the space and has a true hunter's nature. That said: judging by her expression, we're not sure she likes photos very much... so we'll have to give her lots of likes to try and make her get over her anger.

6. Doug, the king of pop culture
If you don't already follow him, we're sure you've seen some of his images or videos. Doug is the most famous Pug on social media (he has almost 2 million followers on Instagram). His fabulous outfits, his talent as an actor and dancer – proven in several of his videos – and his casual attitude have given him the popularity he deserves. What's more, Doug the Pug imitates celebrities like no one else and even rubs shoulders with them.
