We're setting Impressionism aside to embark on a new journey through Post-Impressionism. This movement, which emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, was characterized, like its predecessor, by breaking with the rules established by academies. Among its artists, there was a strong desire to faithfully reflect nature and present a more subjective view of the world.
Seurat
Georges-Pierre Seurat was the founder of Pointillism. He was famous for his technique in which it is the human eye that blends colors on the retina. In several of his works, such as A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte or Bathers at Asnières, we can see several ARISTODOGS enjoying an afternoon in the park.

Van Gogh
This artist is one of the main exponents of the Post-Impressionist movement. His work is notable for its use of color and a frantic technique that reveals some features of Expressionism. His early works were drawings depicting peasants and miners, everyday life models, and animals, such as the drawing of this dog.
Or that of this lady walking down the street with her dog.
Toulouse Lautrec
This artist is the creator of the modern poster, a starting point for Expressionism. He stood out for his drawings and posters of Parisian nightlife in the late 19th century, where the human figure in motion predominated. Although among his paintings we can also find several portraits of ARISTOPETS.
Paul Gauguin
This artist's work is notable for his experimental use of color. He used flat colors in his works with an original primitive theme that distanced itself from everything related to contemporary beauty. His work paved the way for later movements, such as German Expressionism and Fauvism, and greatly influenced Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso.
Arearea is one of the many compositions the painter made during his first stay in Tahiti. In the foreground, we find a red dog.

Joaquín Sorolla
Spanish painter passionate about natural light. His most outstanding works are beach scenes, where sunlight reflects on the sea and illuminates the other figures in the painting. Sorolla portrayed several distinguished figures of American society, such as the portrait of Louis Comfort Tiffany in the garden of his Long Island mansion with his dog.
He also painted a portrait of this small Jack Russell in 1909.
