AFRAID OF NOISE?

¿MIEDO AL RUIDO?

Fear of certain noises has a natural origin present in most species, as it puts them on alert and aids their survival.

Fear of firecrackers, traffic noise, thunder, vacuum cleaner sound... Different noises can cause fear or irritation to our pets. We can try to solve or alleviate it with these tips:

Create a safe zone: The place will serve as a hiding spot for the dog while the noise lasts. We can place a kennel or a carrier in an area of the house where it won't bother us. This will be its refuge where our pet will feel safe.

The entrance to its refuge should be clear, so it can enter and exit when needed. Inside, we will place a blanket to make it more comfortable.

We must remain calm; never scold the dog or over-pet it if it shows signs of fear, such as trembling or growling.

You can accompany it in the safe zone or created refuge to reassure it.

Do not force it out. The dog should not be made to leave its refuge, even when the noise has stopped. It is better to remain calm and invite it out with food or games.
