Dogs on their backs, the new Instagram trend?

Perros boca arriba, ¿la nueva tendencia de instagram?

More than 500 million active Instagram users make this social network an inexhaustible source of trends, ideas, and inspiration. Over 60% of them connect daily and, on average, share around 80 million photos. 90% of users are under 35 years old.

That last piece of information is very interesting because it largely explains the prominence that pets have on this social network. We know that the millennial public (between 20 and 35 years old) has a very special relationship with their four-legged friends. Not only are they more aware of responsible pet ownership, but they also feed them better, dedicate more time to them, and believe that pets bring them success and status. Sharing photos and stories and receiving positive feedback is a way to get validation... and there's nothing like sharing photos of ARISTODOGS or ARISTOCATS to make Instagram surrender at your feet. If you add the hashtag #petstagram to that... what more could we ask for?

Proof of this is that in many cases the ARISTOPET takes over the account and becomes its undisputed star. To the point that some, as we already told you here, become authentic furry influencers.

However, today we are not going to talk about those furry influencers, but about Serena Hodson, an artist, pet photographer, and animal lover, who has caught our attention. In fact, her photos have captivated us. And we believe she has a strong chance of becoming the new sensation on the social network par excellence. Or, at least, of setting a precedent and having her photos begin to be imitated on all five continents.

Serena has created a photographic series dedicated to something irresistible: dogs lying on their backs. The photographs couldn't be funnier and more endearing. In them, we see the author's ARISTODOGS, Rocco, Ralph, Simon, Garfunkel, and Henri, lying (and even sprawling) on beds, sofas, rugs... With a completely confident, relaxed, and fun attitude... or one of total surrender and laziness.

We love these photographs for all they say. It seems that just by looking at them, one already knows what each of these dogs is like. They connect with their essence and personality. And they evoke immense tenderness.

The author also personally immortalizes the relationship her dogs have with each other, the role each plays in the family, through very beautiful and intimate snapshots, as you can see in this one of the English Bulldog Simon and the French Bulldog Garfunkel:

The success of this series has been such that the author has published a book titled Upside – Down Dogs, collecting the best photos. Photos capable of making any pet lover smile.

If you liked this photographer, you will probably also like Ralph Hargarten, known for his portraits of ARISTODOGS with very human expressions. Enjoy!
