Loose Dogs in the Museum, an exhibition that showcases 230 porcelain dogs, illustrations and photographs by prestigious artists. It will take place at the National Museum of Decorative Arts in Buenos Aires, from January 10 to March 18, 2018.
The Zorba Foundation is participating in this exhibition with illustrators and four internationally renowned photographers, through whose work we can see images of abandoned street dogs. Some of these animals were rescued by the foundation.
Spain's participation in this exhibition is handled by Dog Friendly traveler, which supports and promotes the exhibition.
Among the sculptures, we can see ARISTOCRATIC DOGS of different breeds. These works, donated by collectors Juan Carlos Pividal and Mercedes Pirovano, had been in the museum's storage since 1955.
The sculptures were created before World War I by Royal Doulton, Copeland, Mintons, Royal Worcester, Langlade, Meissen, Royal Nymphenburg, Rosenthal, Schierholz, Heubach, Groβherzogliche, Königlichen, Galluba & Hofmann, Bing-Grondahl, Royal Copenhagen, Rörstrand, and Goldscheider. The porcelains used for their creation were acquired in Paris and traveled by ship to Buenos Aires.
In this exhibition we can also see photographs by prestigious photographers such as Italian Marina Sersale, co-creator of the renowned brand Eau d’Italie and owner of the hotel Le Sirenuse in Positano. Eric Mencher, awarded with ‘World Press Photo’, ‘Pictures of the Year’, ‘Best of Photojournalism’ and ‘National Headliners’ among other accolades. Other renowned photographers are Lucio Boschi and Uberto Gasche. The photographs are accompanied by a brief biographical story. A video by photographer Clara de Estrada will also be screened.

The illustrations in this exhibition are of greyhounds drawn on the walls, a work by polo player Martín Orosco. The exhibition poster was created by illustrator Marina di Campello.
One of the driving forces behind the project has been Isabel de Estrada, co-founder of the Zorba Foundation, journalist, author of several books and a regular contributor to The World Of Interiors magazine. Due to her passion for animals, people know her as "the woman who rescues greyhounds."
The museum is located in the Errázuriz palace, a building characteristic of French and European decoration and arts. Previously, this building was the residence of the Errázuriz family, a work by architect René Sergent.
