North Breakwater Beach
This project had some problems because, according to an environmental study, the presence of dogs on the beach could affect the knotting of the Kentish plover.
Also, Puertos, which owns this beach, initially refused to authorize people to enter with their dogs.
Finally, on July 21, 2016, the Dénia City Council obtained approval from the Environment and Ports, and this dog-friendly beach can now be enjoyed.
Punta del Río Sec Beach
If you're going on vacation with your pet and looking for dog-friendly beaches in Alicante, you can now enjoy a few days on the beach with them thanks to this initiative carried out by the Campello City Council, a pioneer in the province of Alicante.
The beach reserved for our ARISTOPETS is Cala de Punta del Riu Sec, a small pebble beach located at the mouth of the Seco river, between the Carrerlamar and Muchavista beaches.
It is a small cove frequented by surfers, located in a natural setting, easily accessible, and very central. In addition, it is 500 meters from a dog park.
Barranc Beach
On March 31, 2016, the Campello City Council gave the green light to its new project for a second dog-friendly beach.
This is Cala del Barranc d’Aigües, located in the northern area of El Campello, next to Llomes de Reixes beach. Since the summer of 2018, this dog-friendly beach has also been enjoyed.
Campello thus leads the way in the province of Alicante in terms of pet-friendly tourism. This dog-friendly beach is a natural beach, protected by a small cliff and practically unspoiled, made of pebbles and gravel.
It is located next to the protected natural area of Lloma de Reixes, and crowned by the Almohad tower of Barranc d'Aigües.
Cala El Xarcó
El Xarco dog-friendly beach in Villajoyosa was inaugurated in 2015, and in 2018 it remains open to our dogs. It is a small natural beach made of gravel and rock located south of the city.
The right side of the beach is designated for dogs. The ordinance was approved on May 21, 2015, and since then many ARISTOPETS have been able to enjoy a great day at the beach with their owners.
Caleta el Gossets
The Dog-friendly Beach in Santa Pola next to the Cape was inaugurated on May 1, 2016. It is a small cove (Caleta dels Gossets) belonging to the Calas del Cuartel group, located next to the Cabo de Santa Pola Natural Park.
It is a natural beach with basic equipment, made of stone and sand. Its new name is “Caleta dels Gossets.
“Playa dels Gossets” is located next to Cabo de Santa Pola and is one of the most frequented dog-friendly beaches in the province of Alicante.
Doggy Beach

The Dog-friendly Beach in Agua Amarga, Alicante, was inaugurated in 2016, and this year 2019 it remains open to our ARISTOPETS.
It consists of 250 linear meters of beach at the height of Agua Amarga, between Alicante and Urbanova. This dog-friendly beach in Alicante features hooks, adapted sunshades, specific bins, and platforms with disposable containers to be used as feeders or water bowls.
You will also find a kiosk where, in addition to refreshments, food for our ARISTOPETS is sold. (Although the beach is open all year round, services are only available during the summer season, from June to September).
It is one of the best-equipped dog-friendly beaches in the province of Alicante.
Mar y Montaña Beach
This is the dog-friendly beach in Altea. It is a small area located on the northern coast of the town, near the Villa Gadea Urbanization, in the beach area between the "Mar y Montaña" port and the reef.
It is a non-urban area with low visitor numbers, and for years it has been frequented by residents who wish to take a dip with their pets.
It is a beach with difficult access due to the large number of private urbanizations around it, and for reasons we don't understand, Google Maps does not provide the correct directions.
If you come by car, it is best to look for parking in Villa Gadea, both in the hotel car park and on the drive down to the estate, which has two small areas set aside for parking. In mid-summer and at peak times, it is not easy to find parking.
Cala del Moro and Punta Margalla

Torrevieja has had 2 dog-friendly beaches since July 2018: Cala del Moro and Punta Margalla. These 2 dog-friendly beaches have been opened provisionally, and their location may change next year, as the City Council has postponed the public consultation on their location until next year.
– Cala del Moro beach is at the southern tip of Cabo Cervera, near residential areas, and combines sand with low cliffs. Small in size, little known, it is one of the best beaches in the city.
– Punta Margalla is a strip of rock and stones, located north of the town, between Curva del Palangre and Las Columnas monument.
Access all year round with no time restrictions.
Cala Lobella
Since last summer 2018, the Valencian community has one more beach, Lobella. It is a natural and quiet beach.
It is a cove formed by rock and pebbles and very popular with water sports enthusiasts. It is a beach with difficult access, which means it is not heavily trafficked.
Cala Les Urques
It is located in Calpe, it is the dog beach of that municipality. Like the previous one, it is made of rocks and pebbles, located next to the marina. It usually has moderate waves and clear waters.
