Dog-friendly beaches 2019: MENORCA

Playas para perros 2019: MENORCA

Our pet-friendly beach tour ends in the Balearic Islands, specifically in Menorca. The Balearic Islands are one of the most desired vacation destinations, both for national and international tourists.

Surely those of you who travel there with your ARISTODOG will be very interested to know where you can enjoy the best pet-friendly beach experience.

Binigaus Beach

It is located where the central southern coast of Menorca ends and the western cliffs begin. This means we can choose to be in the central part of the beach or in the more discreet corners and coves at the end, at the foot of the cliff. We can say that the central area is more family-friendly, and in the western part, you can find younger people.

The crystal-clear and shallow waters make this beach, set in natural surroundings, a perfect place to enjoy with your ARISTODOG.

This dog-friendly beach in Menorca allows dogs only from 7 PM to 9 AM, but if you want to spend the whole day at the beach with your pet, you have Cala Escorxada and Cala Fustam, which are harder to access but just as beautiful.

The rules for enjoying this beach are the same as for other beaches and coves in the country, but in case you have any doubts, here they are (these rules apply to all other beaches and coves in the Balearic Islands):

– Keep your pet under control at all times

– Pick up its droppings

– Try not to disturb other users

– Carry your pet's health card and ensure all its vaccinations are up to date

– If the dog is on the list of potentially dangerous dog breeds, it must be on a leash and muzzled.

Cala Escorxada

Cala Escorxada is a small cove with fine sand and turquoise waters with few visitors due to its difficult access, as it cannot be reached by car.

The best way to reach this beach is to leave the car in Cala Binigaus and walk along a small path to Cala Escorxada. The cove is located within the Natural Area of Special Interest, which extends from Binigaus to Cala Mitjana.

There are no services of any kind at this beach, so if you decide to visit it, you must bring food and drinks for the day. That's why it's important to bring your ARISTODOG kit, such as sunscreen, a cooling vest, and a bath towel, which you can find at ARISTOSHOP

It should be noted that this beach is quite exposed to the sea, so it is better to go when the north wind is blowing, otherwise you may find considerable waves.

Cala Fustam

Cala Fustam is the third dog-friendly beach in the municipality of Es Migjorn Gran, after Cala Binigaus and Cala Escorxada. It is a small and quiet cove in the south of the island, very difficult to access (you have to park the car in Binigaus and walk for about 1 hour to get there) but ideal for enjoying a quiet day at the beach with your pet. It usually has few visitors, and most arrive by boat.

For those of you traveling by car, here is information on the closest parking areas to the cove:

– The Cala Mitjana parking lot

– The Santo Tomás parking lot

– The parking lot next to the cemetery of Es Migjorn Gran

We would love for you to share your travel experiences with your ARISTODOGS with us through our social media. Have you visited any of these coves with your ARISTODOG? We want to know!
