Nueva Vida is a non-profit organization dedicated to animal adoption. Its founders could not remain impassive to the situation of thousands of animals in the kennels of our country.
They began by publicizing the situation of these animals to find someone who would adopt them.
Later, they undertook another project: they managed to gather several dogs from a kennel whose animals were going to be euthanized, in a chalet belonging to one of the group's members. That's where Nueva Vida's journey can be said to have begun.
Over time, after years of dealing with the limitations of those who dedicate all their time and resources to helping others, Nueva Vida managed to create its own shelter with facilities that house more than 50 dogs.
Currently, these are its objectives:
⋅ To publicize the existence of the animals they have taken in to find them adopters and, at the same time, help other animal protection organizations like Nueva Vida with the same task.
⋅ To transport dogs or cats from kennels in other cities to Madrid to place them in foster homes, whose essential help allows them to provide a dignified and welcoming life until they are finally adopted. This also creates space in shelters for other more disadvantaged animals that have been abandoned and/or abused.
⋅ Exceptionally, Nueva Vida pays for residential care when it is not possible to find a foster home or there is no physical space in its own facilities, although it does so as a last resort due to the association's limited income.
The financial contributions received by the organization are therefore entirely dedicated to:
1.- To pay fees for animals taken from the kennel, which cannot leave without being vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped.
2.- To pay for transfers in cases outside Madrid.
3.- Additional veterinary expenses for those who come in sick or injured due to physical and/or psychological abuse.
4.- To pay for the upkeep of foster homes that cannot afford it due to their particular circumstances, or, as a last resort, to pay for residential care.
5.- To improve the facilities, infrastructure, and maintenance of the Nueva Vida shelter, to make the lives of its inhabitants even more dignified while they find a family and to be able to take in even more animals.
