Our tour of the best pet-friendly beaches continues today with none other than the Balearic Islands. The Balearics are one of the most desired vacation destinations for both national and international tourists. Those of you traveling there with your ARISTODOG will surely be interested to know where you can enjoy the best beach experience.
Dog-friendly beaches in Menorca
Cala Binigaus, Cala Escorxada, and Cala Fustam are part of Es Migjorn Gran, as you can see in this beautiful panoramic view. Binigaus is quite popular during this season, as it is a virgin beach, easily accessible on foot or by bike. The sand of Binigaus is white and fine, and the sea color is the characteristic turquoise blue. When there's a southerly wind, as it's a very open beach, there are considerable waves, so pay attention to your best friend. There are no services of any kind, by the way. Cala Escorxada, on the other hand, is the most secluded beach on Menorca's south coast, something you should consider if your dog is not in the best condition. Finally, Cala Fustam is also quite isolated and surrounded by a dense pine forest. It is located in one of the island's areas of special natural interest, so you'll greatly enjoy walking with your dog through the area. Plus, you can go with him all year round.
Cala Binigaus
Dog-friendly beaches in MallorcaPlaya de Llenaire, in Port de Pollença. This beach is 3,900 meters long and 40 meters wide, although only a section is designated as a swimming area for ARISTODOGS. Its occupancy level is usually very high, as it is not only in a beautiful location but also has all kinds of facilities. Additionally, having a nearby pine forest means our furry friends can rest in the shade whenever they need to, if the heat is intense. As you know, during the summer, we must take special care with our ARISTOPETS.
Playa de Na Patana, also known as Na Patana or Punta de na Patana, is located 14 kilometers from Santa Margalida, between Punta des Fenicis, ses Pedreres, and Arenal de ses Assussenes. It is a small corner, with a triangular coastal outcrop, characterized by shallow waters, and a rocky and rugged coastline. A dune system and a lush, unspoiled pine forest extend behind this secluded spot. From Punta de na Pantana, you can take a short walk to visit the necropolis of Punta des Fenicis (8th century BC), consisting of a hundred tombs. You can discover more about the beach in this link . Playa de Es Carnatge, located near Palma airport, was lthe first beach on the island to be designated for dogs to run unleashed 365 days a year. That was a year and a half ago. It's great for furry friends to take a dip and play with their pals, along nearly 33,000 square meters of sand.
The section designated for canine recreation, where they can run unleashed, is located precisely between the Ninot de Cala Gamba and the wooden platform known as the bunkers area. Both the beginning and the end are marked by signs specifying the conditions for using the area.
Cala dels Gats, in Costa de la Calma (Calvià). Despite its name (Cat's Cove), this spot is perfect for enjoying with your best friend. It is a small, quiet, and beautiful sandy beach, surrounded by tamarisks and palm trees, inviting you to swim in its transparent waters. The sandy, rocky, and algal bottom, at a depth ranging from two to four meters, is perfect for snorkeling. If you want to know it better, don't miss this video.
Punta des Marroig, in Palmanova (Calvià), is another option for those who want to cool off or disconnect for a moment. However, it's not the ideal place as services are limited and the environment is very rocky.
Dog-friendly beaches in Ibiza
Ibiza is a fabulous island, where we can do almost anything during the summer, although it must be admitted that in terms of dog-friendly options, they have lagged a bit behind, and we only find two small coves in Santa Eulària del Riu:
The first is a swimming area in Es Faralló, next to Puig de s´Església Vella. A small cove of barely 20 meters, with easy access via Passeig Joan Canals Serra. The second is accessed from the south side. A section of the coast has been designated for this use, including the last 10 meters of the right bank of the river mouth and a small stretch of virgin coastline.
For the moment, we are not aware of any beaches or coves in Formentera where pets are welcome. We hope the situation changes soon!
