Las mejores playas en la Comunidad Valenciana para ir con perros

Today we happily focus on one of Spain's largest pet-friendly destinations: the Valencian Community. Currently, in the Valencian Community, you can enjoy 15 beaches with your dog. And surely, seeing what we've seen, many more will soon be available. Will you join us?

Beaches for dogs in Castellón

1. Aiguaoliva Beach. This beach in Vinarós was the first dog beach in the province of Castellón and is made up of small pebbles. It holds environmental certification ISO 14001, granted by AENOR, which guarantees its proper maintenance, cleanliness, and respect for the environment.

2. Les Llanetes Beach. Also in Vinarós, this is a small beach about 150 meters long made of gravel and pebbles. It stands out for the beauty of its cliffs and is ideal for relaxation and diving. It opened last year and worked quite well.

3. L’Estany Beach, in Punta Capicorb. It is located at the mouth of the San Miguel River, in Alcossebre, and, although it was inaugurated in 2016, it seems that it does not satisfy the needs or tastes of users, who have complained on more than one occasion.

4. Belcaire Beach. On July 28, 2017, the city council enabled a section of this beach for users with dogs in Moncofa, where they can go all year round. It is a beach about 30 meters wide, made of gravel and sand.

Beaches for dogs in Valencia

The province of Valencia currently has four dog beaches, two of them located very close to the capital. So if you are visiting the city, you can easily take a beach getaway.

1. Pinedo Dog Beach. South of the city, at Pinedo Beach, a dog area was inaugurated last year, and we already told you about it at the time. It is a stretch of fine sandy beach with calm waters located in the area closest to the city's port.

2. La Torreta-Santa Elvira Beach. In El Puig, this dog beach is made of stone, pebbles, and sand.

3. Playa-Can. This beach in Gandia is one of the most visited and best-rated dog beaches in the Valencian Community. It is located on a wide and beautiful beach of fine sand and dunes, with mountain views. It is mandatory to respect all rules. In fact, there are guards who ensure compliance and provide wooden stakes where pets must be tied while on the sand. In the water, they can be unleashed. They also have a fresh water hose to wash and rinse the salt off the dogs.

4. El Brosquil Beach. In Cullera, this semi-urban beach is surrounded by private developments, making access a bit difficult. It is a sandy beach, over 2000 meters long and 30 meters wide, ideal for running, playing, and enjoying a quiet holiday on the Costa Blanca.

2. Doggy Beach is located between Urbanova and Alicante. It occupies a stretch of sand and pebble beach, where there is also a beach bar for snacks and refreshments.

3. Playa de la Escollera Norte. This is a small beach in Dénia, located next to the Escollera Norte. It was inaugurated in 2016 and has some aspects to improve, as some users claim it is somewhat dirty and lacks services.

4. Playa Punta del Riu Sec. This beach located in El Campello was the first dog beach in the province of Alicante. Although it faced several detractors at its beginnings, today it has consolidated itself as a dog beach and is one of the most visited. It is made of small pebbles and has very good car access.

5. Playa del Barranc. This dog beach, also located in El Campello, was enabled last year. Made of stones and sand, it is surrounded by natural environments, ideal for those seeking more tranquility.

6. Cala El Xarco. In Villajoyosa, there is this small beach with difficult access, surrounded by private developments. It does not have much parking, so it is advisable to go early.

7. Playa Mar y Montaña. Although it was inaugurated in August 2016, this small dog beach  in Altea was always frequented by users with dogs. Although only now can they do so legally. Like other beaches in the area, it is made up of small round stones and little sand.

Remember that it is very important to protect your pet from the heat. Even if you are at the beach, your dog can still suffer from heatstroke. So stay alert. Having said all this, if you want to continue with the itinerary of the best dog beaches, we invite you to join us in Catalonia or travel a little further, to Galicia. And even leave the peninsula, heading to the Balearic Islands.
