During the warm months of May to August, ticks are most active, so adequate removal methods should be used. They live in undergrowth, grass, and bushes in the countryside. They climb up to 1 meter high where they drop onto people or animals passing by. Ticks can transmit infections, but if removed within a few hours of contact, these can be avoided.

The following should be taken into account when removing them:
- Do not use oils, adhesives, or similar substances to remove them.
- Grasp the tick by the head with the tweezers as close to the skin as possible and remove it in one go.
- Do not squeeze the tick's body.
- Disinfect the bite with an antiseptic ointment.
