Our ARISTOPETS are so important to us that we dedicate ourselves to them body and soul. They inspire us in our daily lives. So much so, that we dedicate literary works to them, immortalize them in works of art, and give them an important role in series and movies. And we dedicate songs to them. Today, in fact, we are going to focus on this last point.
On other occasions, we have told you about the music that ARISTOPETS like. We revealed that soft rock and reggae were the favorite genres for dogs. We also introduced you to the first album composed exclusively for the enjoyment of cats. And we invited you to attend the first concert by and for dogs. Well, today we are going to review those mythical songs that some artists have dedicated to them, regardless of whether or not they are ARISTOPARENTS.
I love my dog
Cat Stevens admits it's funny that someone who calls himself "cat" dedicates a song to a dog. But that's how it is. The song talks about the unconditional love of a dog and for a dog. Because while all other loves can vanish overnight, a dog's love doesn't. Beautiful and accurate.
Delilah
Queen, one of the greatest bands of all time, also dedicated a song to one of the members' pets. Specifically to Delilah, Freddie Mercury's cat, for whom the singer felt complete love. For her unpredictable character, for her territoriality and, of course, for the unconditional companionship she provided him during the hardest and most definitive period of his illness - although, obviously, the singer would only realize this later.
Who gets the dog?
In 2012, the Mexican duo Jessy & Joy released a song that told the story of a breakup. A couple is going through a difficult time. They share everything, and the time comes for them to go their separate ways and divide their belongings. But the most important question arises when they wonder what will happen to their dog. That being who has watched them grow as a couple and as individuals, with whom they have shared so much, as seen in the music video... The song talks about a bad experience, a very difficult situation that we already discussed some time ago in this post.
Man of the hour
Norah Jones sings, with great humor, about that Dante-esque moment when a man says to you, referring to another, "it's him or me." In the song, the woman doesn't choose either of them, but rather a dog. Because it's sweet, affectionate, fun, doesn't argue, is easygoing... and even eats meat. A tribute to those dogs that become the men or women of our lives.
Broken Tail
Chilean singer-songwriter Gepe composed this song to tell the love story between him and his dog Victoria, whom he adopted when she had a broken tail. The artist donated the royalties from this song to the organization Unión de Amigos de los Animales, one of the oldest in South America (founded in 1995), to help support abandoned dogs and raise awareness about responsible pet ownership and abandonment. A great gesture!
